full details of everything that is happening and how it all works, offering you lots of
choice!
If anyone would like a copy of SOCIAL GROUP MAGAZINE prior to
joining, this costs £12 to non-members, as it is the size of a book and is expensive to
print.
However, when you join as a Social Group Member, the current issue
of SOCIAL GROUP MAGAZINE will be sent out to you for FREE!
We don’t hold ‘meetings’ in the same back room of a
pub or village hall every week, as most people find this boring and dull. Instead,
in order to keep things interesting, we vary the mixture of social events, dining out,
parties, activities, and holidays we offer every month and according to the time of year.
Over the years, this unique format has proved really successful and popular.

EVENTS and PREVIOUS HOLIDAYS sections of our web sites. Here there are thousands of
photos of real people at real events, and this should give you a very good idea of what to
expect.
Of course, we don’t know who is going to be joining The Social
Group in the next 12 months but with people joining every day and constantly having new
people to meet, that’s part of the fun of it!
No matter what age you are, no matter what your tastes, with us
having so many hundreds of members and with us offering such a huge events programme, we
can cater for you - offering you more than anyone else and a unique range of events,
activities, short breaks and great value bargain holidays that you won’t find
anywhere else!

SINGLE?
YES! THE SOCIAL GROUP IS IDEAL FOR SINGLES!
People join The Social Group looking to make friends and improve
their social life. The whole point of this is to provide something that you can go
out to by yourself and have a ready-made ‘group of friends’ there to socialise
with.
Most of our members are single and all our events have lots of
single people at them. So there are many hundreds of people of both sexes to meet!
Running this as our own ‘group of friends’, this is all very informal and
friendly, and with so many nice people to meet, it’s much better than a dating agency
or anything like that!
If you are single, you’ll have the opportunity to make friends
of both sexes and the chance to meet someone special. This can happen on a meal, at
a party, on a holiday, at a quiz night, or a car treasure hunt, on a visit to a zoo,
skiing in the Alps, on a behind the scenes tour, at a 1920’s themed party, whilst
having a flying lesson, on a drinks evening, while elephant trekking in Thailand, on a
shopping trip to Las Vegas, on a coach tour weekend to France, at a country pub Sunday
lunch, or on a canoe adventure day out! In fact, you might well find the person of
your dreams at any of our fabulous and enjoyable events!
No-one else offers you more choice and more people to meet and make
friends with! It’s all very normal, very nice, and very relaxed - it’s a
bit like going out with a big family, or like when you were younger and going out with a

We are not an old fashioned ‘dodgy dating agency’ or some
sort of ‘sad singles-only club’ where we arrange forced ‘dates’ with

Also, we would advise everyone to stay clear of the Dating Ads /
Phone Lines / Chat Lines / Internet Chat Sites in the back of newspapers and on the
internet, as these are often very expensive for what you get and often the people who run
these don’t care about you - these are hard-nosed businesses and they don’t have
your best interests at heart.
The Social Group takes a different approach, aiming to offer a much
better way of meeting people and making friends, via the unique idea of offering for you
to come out with us as one of our own ‘group of friends’. Our idea is to
arrange fun times and fun stuff to do, normal everyday stuff like going out for drinks and
a nice meal, and some more exciting and adventurous activities too, so there is lots of
choice and you can tailor it to suit you, and give you the chance to go out, relax, enjoy
life, and be having fun!
If you are at ease and having fun, it’s much easier to make
friends and meet someone special!
And this is nothing weird or strange, but all set out professionally
and properly, in accordance with the law and government guidelines, and run by a dedicated
team headed by husband and wife couple Andrew and Cathy who work on this full time and who
themselves met through The Social Group!
The whole point is that you can come along to any of our events as a
single person, by yourself, and not be on your own when you get to our events - as you are
coming out with our group of friends!
As soon as you start, you are already friends with Andrew and Cathy,
who will offer to meet you at the start of your first event if possible. From there,
you’ll meet lots more people and make lots more friends! Very soon, you’ll
be going out not with a group of strangers, but with a group of people who are your
friends, and you’ll soon feel at ease and part of it.
Plus, as Andrew and Cathy plan all the events and organise them, if
life is busy for you, and you don’t have time to organise your free time, you’ll
find this a short-cut to having a great social life, with everything done for you!
We do all the hard work in getting everyone together and organising
the events - all you have to do is come out, join in, and enjoy yourself - with our group
of friends - who will very soon become your group of friends too!
If you do meet someone special and become a ‘couple’, of
course you can then continue to come out to all our events as a couple - meaning you are
still able to socialise with all your Social Group friends and enjoy all we have to offer!
COUPLES ARE ALSO WELCOME TO JOIN AS MEMBERS!
This is a socialising organisation that is enjoyed by all our
couples! Many of our couples joined as couples - looking to meet people, expand
their social circle, network, and have more to do. There’s all sorts of
things for couples to enjoy!
The Social Group is ideal if you are local and want to meet people
from different walks of life and make some new friends. The Social Group is ideal if
you are new to the area, don’t know anyone locally, and are looking to find all the
best places to go out to. You’ll find Social Group organisers Andrew and Cathy
know just about every pub, restaurant, hotel, activity centre, tourist attraction, and
anywhere worth visiting here in the UK, and have extensive knowledge of some of the other
countries we have run lots of group holidays too - including France, Greece, Egypt,
America, Thailand, and Western Australia amongst others!
Social Group founder Andrew Haglington has a degree in Environmental
Studies and Geography, so can offer lots of extra advice on travelling. As we often
say, “expand your horizons” and see something of the world!
